This Wednesday of the current month and year, the Electoral Commission of ISCED-HUÍLA proceeded with the voting for members of the electoral council.
The Electoral Commission of ISCED-HUÍLA began this morning the voting of members, which included faculty, administrative staff, assistants, students, and civil society. The institutional newspaper spoke with some of the people who were present at the location.
Rufino Tchipako, a member of the commission, expressed satisfaction with public participation in the voting for members of the electoral council. He reminded them of the voting closing time, which will be at 2:00 PM. He also spoke about the commission’s role during the voting: “They have specific duties dictated by the general internal regulations, general regulations at the level of public institutions.” He also mentioned that one of the responsibilities is to monitor the entire election process and guide voters to vote for their preferred candidates.
In Article 4 (Electoral Conduct), during the electoral process, all participants are obliged to respect and observe the ethical standards that underpin public service, guiding their conduct by principles of civility and ethics, as set forth in Article 5 of this Regulation and other applicable legislation.
Failure to observe the rules of electoral conduct results in verbal admonition or removal from candidacy by the respective Electoral Commission of ISCED-Huíla, without prejudice to disciplinary, civil, or criminal liability, if applicable.
Feliciano Missaiele, an administrative employee, hopes for a future Board of Directors with better operational quality, in order to benefit not only students but also the staff working at ISCED-HUÍLA.
Some students gave their positive opinion regarding the creation of the Institutional Electoral Commission. Among them, Celeste Sabango stated that she expects hard work from both the existing and future leadership body commission of the Institution.
In Article 8 (Convening the Election), the head of the singular management body of ISCED-Huíla convenes, by order, the elections for the General Council, establishing, among other things, the electoral calendar and the composition of the Electoral Commission.
The election process for members of the General Council of ISCED-Huíla is directed by the respective Electoral Commission, composed of:
- President, belonging to the class of professors or scientific researchers, with a doctoral degree.
- Two representatives from the class of professors.
- One representative from the class of scientific researchers;
- One representative from the class of assistants,
- One representative from the student association
- One representative from the class of non-teaching staff.
The president and members of the Electoral Commission are appointed by order of the Head of the Singular Management Body of ISCED-Huíla, after consulting the Board of Directors.
The Institution’s Electoral Commission supports democracy, hence the encouragement to the academic community, as well as faculty and others, to participate in the respective processes of the general election bodies.
