The Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Huíla inaugurated its first president, Hélder Pedro Alicerces Bahu, on Friday, June 17 of this year. The ceremony, held at the institution, was attended by various governmental, institutional, ecclesiastical, and political authorities.

The President of the General Council, Boaventura Beleza Nolasco, opened the event with welcoming remarks to the guests and spoke about the transparency of the electoral process and campaign period. He acknowledged the work of the outgoing management, called for a fight against misconduct within the institution, and emphasized the importance of the new president fulfilling the program presented to teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and the academic community to build a better ISCED-HUÍLA.

The Outgoing Director, Full Professor José Mateus Luís Alexandre, also delivered a speech, expressing that it was a great honor and joy to have been part of the management of this institution. He highlighted the importance and evolution of the institution in reaching high standards both nationally and internationally. He expressed his satisfaction with the new governing body and offered full-time availability to assist the new Board of Directors whenever necessary, concluding with the handover of portfolios to the new President of ISCED-HUÍLA.

The General Council and the Vice-Governor, Maria João Tchipalavela, presented merit medals to both the former board of directors and the new governing body.
