ISCED-Hu\u00edla, through its Center for Research and Development in Education (CIDE), promoted, in partnership with ADRA \u2013 Hu\u00edla, a course on “Data Collection Methods and Georeferencing”<\/strong>. The course was aimed at 20 technicians from ADRA \u2013 Hu\u00edla and was delivered by CIDE technicians. <\/p>\n\n

The course took place from August 10 to 14 at the ADRA \u2013 Hu\u00edla facilities, totaling 20 hours of theoretical instruction, practical exercises, and a pilot survey. The following objectives were defined: <\/p>\n

    \n
  • To develop a set of skills necessary to use technological tools (smartphones, tablets, and computers) in practical and everyday situations of data collection and processing in field contexts;<\/li>\n
  • To develop a set of theoretical and practical skills necessary for using QGIS in practical and everyday situations of cartographic production<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    The course consisted of two modules:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Module on Mobile Data Collection<\/strong> – aims to contribute to the acquisition of professional qualifications in digital data collection;<\/li>\n
    • Module on Geographic Information Systems (GIS)<\/strong> – aims to contribute to the acquisition of professional qualifications in data collection, processing, and production of geographic maps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      To achieve the stated objectives, the course combined conceptual, methodological, and practical components, which support an appropriate selection of data collection technologies and techniques, with a more instrumental component that was implemented through the use of Open Data Kit (ODK) technology installed on mobile devices and Geographic Information Systems \u2013 GIS.<\/p>\n\n
